Keeping My Hand Moving

This is what I do when the work stops moving. Every designer hits the wall where nothing you put down is right, and the only thing I have found that clears it is drawing something nobody is waiting for. No brief, no revision round, nobody to please. Half of it is fading an artblock and half of it is keeping my head in one piece.

None of it starts as a plan. I follow whatever I am curious about that week and stop when it stops being interesting, which is the opposite of how everything else I make gets built. Some of it turns into something, most of it does not, and that is the point. It is the clearest answer I have to what I actually reach for when every constraint comes off.
